Does the government fear us? Or do we fear the government? When the people fear the government, tyranny has found victory. The federal government is our servant, not our master!

Why We're Here

In 1620, the Pilgrims (a name that was used beginning in 1800) came to the new world seeking religious freedom, forming the Plymouth Colony. Their faith was not aligned with that of the Church of England, and they fled their home country as a result (by way of Holland). Upon arrival, they established the Mayflower Compact, a document that promised cooperation among settlers "for the general good of the Colony unto which we promise all due submission and obedience." It organized them into a "civil Body Politick", in which issues would be decided by voting (a democratic notion). The Mayflower Compact is considered by many to be the basis of American democracy, and has often been called the world's first written constitution. This is where the story of America truly began.
